1. Definitions

Terms not defined in this Privacy Policy are defined in the same definition as in our Terms of Service (“Terms”).

2. Personal Information We Collect

2.1 Information necessary to use the EZ-CHECKIN platformWe collect personal information about you when you use the EZ-CHECKIN platform. Without it, we may not be able to provide you with all the requested services. This information includes:

  • Contact information, account, and profile information. Such as your first name, last name, phone number, mailing address, email address, date of birth, and profile picture, some of which will depend on the features you use.
  • Verification of identity and payment information. Such as images of your government-issued ID (as permitted by applicable laws), your identification number or other verification information, bank account number, or payment account information.

2.2 Information you choose to provide to usYou may choose to provide us with additional personal information. This information may include:

  • Additional profile information. Such as gender, preferred language(s), city and personal description. Some of this information, as stated in your account settings, is part of your public profile page and will be publicly visible.
  • Other information. For example, when you fill out a form, add information to your account, respond to surveys, post on community forums, participate in promotions, communicate with our customer support team and other Members, or share your experience with us. This may include medical information if you choose to share it with us.

2.3 Information collected automatically through the use of the EZ-CHECKIN platform. When you use the EZ-CHECKIN platform we collect personal information automatically. This information may include:

  • Geolocation information. Such as the precise or approximate location determined from your IP address or the GPS of your mobile device, depending on your device’s settings. We may also collect this information when you are not using the app if you enable it through your device’s settings or permissions.
  • Usage Information. Such as the pages or content you view, Listing searches, bookings you have made and other actions on the EZ-CHECKIN Platform.
  • Registration data and device information. Such as details about how you have used the EZ-CHECKIN Platform  (including if you clicked on links to third-party applications), IP address, access dates and times, hardware and software information, device information, device event information, unique identifiers, fault data, cookie data, and the pages you have viewed or interacted with before or after using the EZ-CHECKIN platform. We may collect this information even if you have not created an EZ-CHECKIN account or are not logged in.
  • Cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy.
  • Payment transaction information. Such as the payment instrument used, date and time, payment amount, payment instrument due date and billing zip code, PayPal email address, IBAN information, your address, and other details related to the transaction.

2.4 Personal information we collect from third parties. We collect personal information from other sources, such as:

  • Context information. For members in the United States, to the extent permitted by applicable laws, we may obtain public records reports of criminal convictions or sex offender records. For Members outside the United States, to the extent permitted by applicable laws and with your consent where necessary, we may obtain the local version of police, background or registered sex offender checks. We may use your information, including your full name and date of birth, to obtain such reports.
  • Other sources. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may receive additional information about you, such as references, demographics, or information to help detect fraud and security issues from third-party service providers and/or partners, and combine it with information we hold about you. . For example, we may receive background check results or fraud warnings from identity verification service providers to use in our fraud prevention and risk assessment efforts. We may receive information about you and your activities on and off the EZCHECKIN Platform, or about your experiences and interactions from our partners. We may receive medical information, including but not referred to, medical information related to communicable diseases.

3. How We Use the Information We Collect

3.1 Provide, improve and develop the EZ-CHECKIN platform. We use personal information to:

  • allow you to access the EZ-CHECKIN platform and make payments,
  • perform analysis, debugging and conduct research,
  • provide customer service,
  • send you messages, updates, security alerts and account notifications,
  • personalize and personalize your experience based on your interactions with the EZ-CHECKIN Platform, your search and booking history, your profile information and preferences, and other content you submit, and
  • enable your use of our business products.

3.2 Create and maintain a reliable and secure environment. We use personal information to:

  • detect and prevent fraud, spam, abuse, security incidents and other harmful activities,
  • conduct security investigations and risk assessments,
  • verify or authenticate the information provided by you,
  • carry out checks against databases and other sources of information, including police or background checks,
  • comply with our legal obligations, protect the health and well-being of our Guests members of the public.
  • resolve disputes with our members,
  • enforce our agreements with third parties,
  • comply with the law, respond to legal requests, prevent harm and protect our rights (see section 4.5) enforce our Terms and other policies, and In connection with the above activities, we may make profiles based on your interactions with the EZ-CHECKIN Platform, your profile information and other content that you submit to EZ-CHECKIN , and information obtained from third parties. In limited cases, automated processes may restrict or suspend access to the EZ-CHECKIN Platform if such processes detect activity that we believe poses a security risk or other risk to EZ-CHECKIN , our community or third parties. 3.3 Provide, personalize, measure and improve our advertising and marketing. We may use personal information to:

  • send you promotional messages, marketing, advertising and other information based on your preferences and social media advertising through social media platforms,
  • personalize, measure and improve our advertising,
  • administer referral programs, rewards, surveys, sweepstakes, contests or other promotional activities or events sponsored or administered by EZ-CHECKIN  or its external partners,
  • analyze features and preferences to send you promotional messages, marketing, advertising and other information that we think may be of interest to you, and
  • invite you to relevant events and opportunities.

4. Share and Disseminate

4.1 Share with your consent or at your direction. When you give your consent, we share your information as described at the time of consent, such as when you authorize a third-party application or website to access your EZ-CHECKIN account or participate in promotional activities of EZ-CHECKIN partners or third parties.

Where permitted by applicable law, we may use certain information about you, such as your email address, remove it from identification and share it with social media platforms, to generate leads, drive traffic to EZ-CHECKIN or promote our products and services. 

4.2 Information you post in profiles and other public information. You can make certain information publicly visible to others, such as:

  • Your public profile page, which includes your profile picture, name, description, and city.
  • List of pages that include information such as description of the approximate or precise location of the Accommodation or Experience, calendar availability, profile picture, aggregate demand information (such as page views over a period of time), and additional information you choose to share.
  • Reviews, ratings and other public comments.
  • Content in a community or discussion forum, blog or social media post.
  • We may display portions of your public profile and other content that you make available to the public, such as Listing details on third-party sites, platforms, and applications.
  • The information you share publicly on the EZ-CHECKIN platform may be indexed through third-party search engines. 

4.4 Comply with the law, respond to legal requests, prevent harm and protect our rights. We may disclose your information to the courts, law enforcement, governmental or public authorities, tax authorities or authorized third parties, if and to the extent we are required or permitted by law or where disclosure is reasonably necessary: (i) to comply with our legal obligations, (ii) to comply with a valid legal request or to respond to claims brought against EZ-CHECKIN , (iii) to respond to a valid legal request related to a criminal investigation to address an alleged or alleged illegal activity, or to respond to or address any other activity that may expose us, you or any other of our users to legal or regulatory liabilities, (iv) to enforce and administer our agreements with Members, or (v) to protect the rights, property or personal safety of EZ-CHECKIN , its employees, its Members or members of the public. For example, if allowed due to the above circumstances, the property owner’s tax information may be shared with tax authorities or other government agencies.

Where applicable, we may notify Members of legal requests unless: (i) legal process prohibits notification, by court order we receive or by applicable law, or (ii) we believe that providing notice would be futile, ineffective, create a risk of injury or bodily harm to an individual or group, or create or increase a risk of fraud or harm to EZ-CHECKIN , our Members, or expose EZ-CHECKIN to a claim of obstruction of justice.

For jurisdictions where EZ-CHECKIN  facilitates the collection and sending of taxes where legally permitted under applicable law, we may disclose Owners and Guests’ information about transactions, reservations, Accommodation and Occupancy Taxes to the appropriate tax authority, such as Owner and Guest. names, Listing addresses, transaction dates and amounts, tax identification numbers, the amount of taxes received (or due) by Guest Hosts, and contact information.

In jurisdictions where EZ-CHECKIN  facilitates or requires a registration, notification, permit or license application of a Host with a local government authority through EZ-CHECKIN  in accordance with local law, we may share information of participating Hosts with the relevant authority, both during the application process and, periodically thereafter, such as the Host’s full name and contact details, accommodation address, tax identification number, listing details and the number of nights booked.

4.6 Programs with administrators and owners. We may share Personal Owner and Guest information, such as booking information, and information related to compliance with applicable laws, such as rental or rental laws, with owners, management companies and/or landlords (the “Building or Real Estate Management”), in order to facilitate programs with Building Management. For example, guest booking and personal information, including guest contact information, may be shared with the Administration of the building, resort or community where a host lives and/or the listing is located, to facilitate lodging services, compliance with applicable laws, security, billing and other services.

4.7 Service Providers. We share personal information with affiliated and unaffiliated service providers to help us run our business, including service providers who help us: (i) verify your identity or authenticate your identification documents, (ii) verify information in public databases, (iii) conduct background or police checks, fraud prevention and risk assessment, (iv) perform product development, maintenance and debugging, (v) enable the provision of the EZ-CHECKIN Services through third-party platforms and software tools, (vi) provide customer service, advertising or payment services, (vii) process, manage or evaluate insurance claims or similar claims, or (viii) facilitate charitable and non-profit activities in accordance with EZ-CHECKIN’s mission. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your personal information and have access to your personal information to perform these tasks.

4.9 Business Transfers. If EZ-CHECKIN  undertakes or participates in any merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy or insolvency event, then we may sell, transfer or share some or all of our assets, including your information in connection with such transaction or in the contemplation of such transaction (e.g., due diligence). In this case, we will notify you before your personal information is transferred and is subject to a different privacy policy.

4.10 Affiliated Companies. To help us provide, integrate, promote and improve the EZ-CHECKIN platform we may share personal information within our corporate family of companies that are related by common ownership or control. Some examples are:

5. Other Important Information

5.1 Analysis of your communications. We may review, explore or analyze your communications on the EZ-CHECKIN Platform  for the reasons described in the “How We Use the Information We Collect” section of this policy, including fraud prevention, risk assessment, regulatory compliance, research, product development, research. , analysis, enforcing our Terms of Service and customer support purposes. For example, as part of our fraud prevention efforts, we scan and analyze messages to mask contact information and references to other sites. In some cases, we may also explore, review, or analyze messages to debug, improve, and expand the product offering. We use automated methods when reasonably possible. Occasionally, we may need to manually review communications, such as for fraud investigations and customer support, or to evaluate and improve the functionality of these automated tools. We will not review, scan or analyze your messaging communications to send you third-party marketing messages and will not sell reviews or analysis of these communications.

5.2 Third Party Integrations and Partners. Portions of EZ-CHECKIN may link to third-party services, which are not owned or controlled by EZ-CHECKIN, such as Google Maps/Earth. Use of these services is subject to the privacy policies of those providers, such as the Google Maps/Earth Additional Terms of Use, the Google Privacy Policy, and the Privacy Policy of each banking or credit institution chosen by the Guest or Host to make transactions or payments within the platform. EZ-CHECKIN does not own or control these third parties and when you interact with them, you are providing them with your information.

6. Please note that we may ask you to verify your identity and apply before taking further action on your request.

6.1 Managing Your Information. You can access and update some of your personal information through your account settings. You are responsible for keeping your personal information up to date.

6.2 Data Access and Portability. In some jurisdictions, applicable law may authorize you to request certain copies of your personal information or information about how we handle your personal information, request copies of the personal information you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format. and/or request that we transmit this information to another service provider (where technically possible).

6.3 Data Erasure. In certain jurisdictions, you may request that your personal information be deleted. Please note that if you request the erasure of your personal information:

We may retain your personal information as necessary for our legitimate business interests, such as preventing money laundering, detecting and preventing fraud, and improving security. For example, if we suspend an EZ-CHECKIN account  for fraud or security reasons, we may retain information from that EZ-CHECKIN account  to prevent that member from opening a new EZ-CHECKIN account  in the future.

We may retain and use your personal information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations. For example, EZ-CHECKIN  may retain information for tax, legal reporting and audit obligations.

The information you have shared with others (e.g. reviews, forum posts) will remain publicly visible on EZ-CHECKIN, even after your EZ-CHECKIN account  is cancelled. However, the attribution of such information will be removed. Some copies of your information (e.g. records) will remain in our database, but will be disassociated from personal identifiers.

Because we take steps to protect data from accidental or malicious loss and destruction, residual copies of your personal information may not be deleted from our backup systems for an unlimited period of time.

6.4 Account deactivation

6.4.1 How to deactivate your account. By deactivating your account, all reservations you have pending as a guest will be automatically canceled on your behalf and the applicable cancellation policy will apply. If in the future you want to use a deactivated account again, you will have to contact us via email.

6.4.2 Account Deletion. Deleting an account means permanently deleting your personal data and closing your EZ-CHECKIN  account. It cannot be reversed.

Once we process your request, we will delete your personal information permanently (except for certain information that we are legally required or authorized to retain, as described in our Privacy Policy). This means that we will no longer be able to provide you with our services. If you decide to reuse EZ-CHECKIN  in the future, you will need to open a new account.

6.4.3 Access to Data. You can access most of the main information in the administration of your EZ-CHECKIN account.

You can change your preferences by clicking on the “Unsubscribe” link at the end of marketing emails.

Do you still receive emails from EZ-CHECKIN after I unsubscribe?

We will continue to use the contact details you provided to send you notifications related to the services you request (for example, emails to confirm your reservations or regarding your transactions). If you do not want to receive any notifications from EZ-CHECKIN (not even service messages), you will need to deactivate or delete your EZ-CHECKIN account.

How to object to the use of personal data by EZ-CHECKIN for direct marketing purposes and to the sharing of your data with third parties for commercial purposes

If the law of the jurisdiction in which you reside allows it, you may opt-out of such direct marketing activities, as described in our Privacy Policy via email. If you want to stop receiving marketing communications, read the question above.

6.4.6 Do not accept processing. How to object to EZ-CHECKIN processing some of your personal data for certain specific purposes

If permitted by the applicable law in your place of residence, you may request that EZ-CHECKIN not process your personal data for certain specific purposes (including analysis for profiling purposes) where such processing is based on a legitimate interest. If you object to the processing of data, EZ-CHECKIN will stop processing your personal data for these purposes, unless we can demonstrate that there are justified reasons for the processing or that it is necessary for the recognition, exercise or defense of legal actions.

7. Safety.

While no organization can guarantee perfect security, we are continuously implementing and updating administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, destruction, or alteration.

8. Modifications to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time in accordance with applicable law. If we do, we will post the revised Privacy Policy and update the “Last Updated” date at the top. In the event of material changes, we will also notify you of the modification by email at least thirty (30) days prior to the effective date. If you do not agree with the revised Privacy Policy, you may cancel your Account.
